tom @ May 12th 2008 8:39AM
Your statement is incorrect! He didn't say what YEAR's May 21st.
ryangohabs @ May 12th 2008 5:00PM
2002 is the last and 2013 is the next.
gray @ May 12th 2008 12:30AM
wow.. that shits is baller..
Good thing I can get active sync on my sony ericsson phone though
aaron @ May 12th 2008 12:59AM
What?
Anton @ May 12th 2008 12:34AM
That sure is damn slick looking Blackberry!
Ysleiro @ May 12th 2008 9:49AM
HEY GUYS !
I'm currently a 8100 user and I'm looking into buying a new phone later on this year.
Can anybody tell me what the major differences between the Xperia and the 9900? (I know they have different OS.. blah blah)
Like what's the difference between the Blackberry push e-mail and what the WinMo users get? which one is better? why is it better?
kidvalor @ May 12th 2008 12:35AM
damn!... and I just renewed my contract for a curve... oh well im pretty sure it will take a 6 months for it to come to t-mobile than another 6 months for t-mobile to get 3G where I live so i will be good
Elisha Adeagbo @ May 12th 2008 12:35AM
Yay! it's about time :)
duh @ May 12th 2008 12:35AM
This phone is a godsend. I may have touted Verizon EVDO in the past, and AT&T still sucks, but I'll suffer to get my hands one of these before May 2009 (Verizon's launch date). Get with the program Verizon; early adopters adopt new tech early, not a year late!
Hiwired @ May 12th 2008 11:50AM
Verizon needs some time to figure out how to disable the GPS.
Scott @ May 13th 2008 9:22AM
@Hiwired
Funny and oh so true!
Zencyde @ May 12th 2008 12:39AM
Your resolution is backwards. Try 480x320. : ) XxY is the proper format.
vdogg89 @ May 12th 2008 12:40AM
im diggin that nice screen
Jeff @ May 12th 2008 12:41AM
Now, if this could just come to Alltel in the next month or so then we would be in business.
aaron @ May 12th 2008 12:44AM
What's an Alltel?
derX @ May 12th 2008 2:37AM
Alltel. I here it's contagious. A little cream should clear it up.
Striker @ May 12th 2008 12:41AM
Wow that thing is gorgeous, it is the possibly the most beautiful smartphone I have laid eyes on, and I am not kidding.
DavidEckmier @ May 12th 2008 1:12AM
if Chuck Norris thinks so, the competition is over!
Mobius_1 @ May 12th 2008 5:53AM
Chuck Norris doesn't use smartphones, it's faster for him to run
Steve Jones @ May 12th 2008 2:10PM
Don't tell anyone, but when he thought no-one was looking I once saw him pull one out from his beard.
Gibson @ May 12th 2008 12:42AM
Do any gadget savants really prefer a Blackberry over a truly 3rd-party-supported platform?
The first day I bought my HTC Titan, it was hacked into a beautiful, pristine superdevice on the train ride home, with all the trimmings, including GPS. It was not built this way.
I suggest anyone going for the high-end business phone look to the Rafael for love.
derX @ May 12th 2008 2:40AM
It's not so much that gadget savants--I like that phase, btw--love RIM, it's more so those in business. The devices' operating on a closed platform lends to their greatest asset: security.
The Raphael may be gorgeous, but, essentially, as in the case of all WinMo and other open platforms, it comes hacked out of the box.
matthew @ May 12th 2008 5:56AM
when i had a blackberry, the rim programs made for it worked so well i didnt' miss an open platform. Its pretty damn seemless
Mike G @ May 12th 2008 10:28AM
That depends on your priorities ... do you want to play with gadgets or just get the job done? I like gadgets, but generally fall into the later catagory; I love my Blackberry and will be first on the list to get oneof these.
BlissX @ May 12th 2008 12:50AM
I'm already in love with my T-Mobile Curve.
Now that it's confirmed with 3G for T-Mobile (bout time), I'm gonna have to part ways and say hello to Bold.
Greg Mardon @ May 12th 2008 12:53AM
Is it coming to canada right away? because i'd love to get one.
DavidEckmier @ May 12th 2008 1:09AM
none of the carriers have announced it yet, but it'll probably end up with Rogers first, since they typically get the new phones faster, being the only GSM provider and all.
Greg Mardon @ May 12th 2008 1:17AM
Yea that makes sense. I just hope bell gets it within a reasonable time span.
Dan Armstrong @ May 12th 2008 2:06AM
Considering RIM is Canadian and all...Yeah it will come to Canada, probably before...everyone.
Mike @ May 12th 2008 11:11AM
I guess technically it's in Canada already...
giantenemycrab @ May 12th 2008 12:59AM
Mmm, that looks nice.. I wish there was more than 1GB internal flash memory, though.
aaron @ May 12th 2008 1:07AM
You can MicroSD up to 16GB
SignificantMind @ May 12th 2008 1:45AM
@aaron I think you meant MicroSDHC? Correct me if I am wrong.
DavidEckmier @ May 12th 2008 1:08AM
uber sexy.
RIMM Jobs @ May 12th 2008 1:08AM
yawn
moonzilla @ May 12th 2008 1:29AM
no wifi = lame
though it does look really nice otherwise
jvh @ May 12th 2008 1:37AM
i guess you need "wifi" to be spelled out for you..
what do you think "802.11a/b/g" is?
Mike @ May 12th 2008 1:40AM
Not knowing 802.11a/b/g is WiFi = lame
munir @ May 12th 2008 1:40AM
woops, completely missed that. thanks bud
SignificantMind @ May 12th 2008 1:42AM
As it says in the Specs..."802.11a/b/g" which is a WIFI capability. Even it has a logo of WIFI in the blackberry 9000 screen shown in the picture. So obviously it has WIFI capabilities.
matthew @ May 12th 2008 5:58AM
where are all of you people using this wifi? in new york you are either searching for someone dumb enough to leave their wifi unlocked or paying for an access spot. I've never been on EVDO on a phone and wished i was on wifi. or are you sitting around your house on your home network without a data plan?
Kevin @ May 12th 2008 1:52AM
K sprint hurry up and get this NOW!!!!!
derX @ May 12th 2008 2:43AM
Wrong CDMA carrier telling to pick up the BlackBerry--or virtually any device--in a timely manner...you hear me now? Good.
Chris Taylor @ May 12th 2008 2:02AM
WOW I am seriously digging that 480x320 screen AND the 480x320 VIDEO record (though at what bitrate) NIcccceeeee!
Craig B. @ May 12th 2008 2:06AM
I can't say I'm the biggest fan of the OS, but those are some really nice specs they have there.
eendracht @ May 12th 2008 2:07AM
I sure wish RIM would get their OS X act together. Not all mac people own an iPhone, and it is a pain in the ass to use the unofficial OS X BlackBerry software.
Ondra Soukup @ May 12th 2008 2:24AM
The black bars on top and bottom of the screen ? Way to go, make it look even smaller. RIM always had a thing for interface design :/
wako @ May 12th 2008 3:11AM
I still think the UI looks crappy. Sure it looks better, but now the icons seems more like a guessing game after seeing the crackberry review of the phone.
Ill keep to my curve :P
initialxy @ May 12th 2008 7:15AM
i actually have the very same opinion. the theme and icons are just hard to distinguish. i guess they finally came to their senses to add some hits of colours in the new icons set. But after all, i'm sure you can change the theme easily like any previous blackberries.
