isn't this what RSS is for?
Matt @ Aug 16th 2007 12:15AM
You hit it dead on.
Jonathan Keim @ Aug 16th 2007 12:22AM
I think its kind of cool, not everyone has time to go through everything... I might actually start using this.
tehpwnmstr @ Aug 16th 2007 12:33AM

Fernando @ Aug 16th 2007 12:55AM
Dasu Dasu. Do a spinning flip. The pool is off limits. Shop for a whopper.
Tibwolf @ Aug 16th 2007 12:59AM
Chris Hansen?!
zerosozha @ Aug 16th 2007 1:58AM
O RLY?
ARiza @ Aug 16th 2007 12:56AM
no need for this - if you want a list subscribe to the RSS feed
I like scrolling through each story and its accompanying picture, these recaps will just get in the way
Dan @ Aug 16th 2007 12:57AM
Pretend this is a big picture, but there is no story. Hell, just think of it as an ad.
ARiza @ Aug 16th 2007 1:08AM
Lame
Now there will be this incredibly long recap every day taking up space when it could be used to fit another story or two per page
This recap should really be off to one side so it doesnt get in the way of the blog entries. Some people may have forgotten but the whole point of Engadet are the blog entries.
drumr @ Aug 16th 2007 12:57AM
I'm liking this type of thing, an idea, put it in some other little box kinda like breaking news and featured stories, but called "Daily Headlines" and have these in there one after the other.
It could save some people valuable time, and say people who look on here for only 1 thing at a time (for example Solid State Disk Drives) wouldn't get caught up searching, when he can quickly browse the headlines.
Cheers for the idea, I hope that you keep it going.

i agree with tehpwnmstr that no winners have vbeen announced for the 300 360 draw wth?
and with jonathan kiem that sometimes if you just want to check b4 you go to bed or something, this type of recap thing is good
ed @ Aug 16th 2007 2:07AM
This is fine for the web site, but adding it to the RSS feed is just annoying. Aight?
Natedog @ Aug 16th 2007 8:44AM
What he said ^ this is just redundant when it's placed in the RSS feed. If some people like it, that's fine. But those are probably people who don't use the feed.
Sambodia @ Aug 16th 2007 4:13AM
I like to go through each entry also. the news list just gets in the way in my opinion. i wouldn't mind if it were to be on the side stating "news for (insert date here)" like someone above previously suggested, then that blog entry can be easily accessed on a later date, sorta like an archive thingy. but keep up the good work, engadget! my fave news page for, well, gadgets!
firthie @ Aug 17th 2007 3:29AM
I must admit I like having this "Today in Engadget" feature as it helps to breakup which stories appear on which date. I'd like it to be taken a step further with a little calendar on the right hand side (where the iphone review add is) where you can select the day and it takes you to the "Today in Engadget" entry for that day.
This would help in being able to find previous entries without having to type in the search.
Alternatively just have the calendar which links to the "Today in Engadget" and remove the "Today in Engadet" posts from the other daily entries.
Keep up the great work and two thumbs up for trying to improve an already great service!!!
