Asus U2E gets unboxed
Although we'd been told that the hot Asus U2E ultraportable was delayed so the company could launch several products at once, it looks like the crew at PC Perspective managed to get their hands on one and do the requisite unboxing. No word on how the lil' scamp runs with that ULV Core Duo, but it looks just as slick as ever, and we're digging that satchel case it comes with -- check it all out at the read link.

Looks like a nice little piece of hardware. Interested in seeing some reviews of performance.

That is one sexy carrying case. Well maybe not sexy, but it sure would look good!
I just want the carrying case like a messenger bag, not even the laptop!
linuxamp @ Feb 27th 2008 11:27PM
If you read the article it says "...this (case) is the one used for the Asus S6 - the U2E case will be a black suede."
Sirocco @ Feb 27th 2008 7:12PM
Leather clad? I don't know if I want that.
Raheem @ Feb 27th 2008 7:17PM
This is sex.
Okay maybe not...
Sex costs more.
bi0hazard @ Feb 27th 2008 7:50PM
only if you're ugly.
if you're sexy like me, people will pay you
engadget @ Feb 27th 2008 7:55PM
Raheem / Biohazard - how do you change your Avatar???
Raheem @ Feb 27th 2008 8:13PM
I thought I WAS paying you.
"engadget", click on your own name.
Flashpoint @ Feb 27th 2008 7:25PM
Its ugly.
But my real interest is why Engadget allows more than one person to be HIGHEST RANKED.
How can more than one person be HIGHEST?
If you are HIGHEST then all others are underneath.
Same goes for LOWEST RANKED... how can a bunch of people be LOWEST RANKED?
Engadget needs to understand that comment rankings should be LOWEST - LOWLY - HIGHLY and HIGHEST in a sliding scale.
this way we can get a competition going.
Maybe you could even offers some Engadget prizes?
Irfan @ Feb 27th 2008 7:34PM
"tied for highest" doesnt sound as good.
Jason @ Feb 27th 2008 7:42PM
I believe you're thinking of it incorrectly. More than one person can get an A or F on a test.
I do agree that it's ugly.
ace_spades @ Feb 27th 2008 7:50PM
I think that it is the numbers- such as 0 to +/- 2 is neutral, +/-2 to +/- 30 or so is highly ranked and higher might be highest (note all #'s here are arbitrary)
CaptSaltyJack @ Feb 27th 2008 7:51PM
"Same goes for LOWEST RANKED... how can a bunch of people be LOWEST RANKED?"
Dunno, let's find out! *click*
jdmbo1 @ Feb 27th 2008 8:34PM
Well, if there was a prize for Lowest Rank, you won.
SimonRichards @ Feb 27th 2008 8:16PM
omg...its like the eee, but with a bigger screen...WANT!
But how much does it cost? More than the eee I expect.
daliminator2000 @ Feb 27th 2008 8:20PM
Man my W3J looks more and more dated every day. At least it's still probably faster =P
webon @ Feb 27th 2008 8:22PM
whats the battery life like?
NG @ Feb 27th 2008 8:38PM
Still prefer the EEE
adobochicken @ Feb 27th 2008 10:13PM
i like the texture on the casing and small enough.
I don't if its around $600
adobochicken @ Feb 27th 2008 10:15PM
I mean I'll buy it if its around $600 or below
Life of Brian @ Feb 27th 2008 10:35PM
Slick! I was thinking about an EEE PC, but this looks awesome. ASUS is now my favorite laptop company!
Ruben @ Feb 27th 2008 11:18PM
I just wish they had the facilities to build and price, like Dell and Lenovo. Sometimes i like to browse.
zed @ Feb 27th 2008 11:13PM
cool. build quality seems low just by looking at it (keyboard).
i want to see the price on this though, i have my eye on it.
happy_penguin @ Feb 28th 2008 12:21AM
It looks like a nice little machine to me. Simple, elegant. Very nice.
ijyt @ Feb 28th 2008 1:09PM
Quick Google search here, and I found the lowest price to be £1,055.
That depresses me.
