Personally, I would rather order/pay using a computer terminal and avoice having to deal with either the chatty cathy waitress, or the one who couldn't be bothered to crack a smile because she's a nasty bitch.

I realize that nobody here supports Microsoft, but have you seen Surface? http://www.microsoft.com/surface If you look at the middle video ("The Power"), you'll see that this isn't new. If you look at the third video ("The Possibilities"), there is even a demonstration of how you pay at a restaurant, calculate tip, and never have to hand over your card.
