MSI Wind gets Turkish video hands-on
Curious enough about the MSI Wind to sit through a video of a couple of nerds talking about it endlessly in Turkish? Check it out after the break -- and we don't want to hear a word about how you want those three and a half minutes of your life back.

What the heck does it matter that you're first.. At least add something to the discussion...
I notice I may be a hypocrite right now, just responding back to you so I will ask something...
Does anybody know how much this is going to cost?
Owen @ Apr 23rd 2008 11:40PM
I know it doesn't matter. I just wanted to be cool like all the kids.
I hope that this Wind product is actually good, unlike HP's offering. With Asus seemingly loosing the plot (a 10-inch EeePC is *NOT* a small, cheap computer), we need some others to come and fill the void.
Juaquin @ Apr 23rd 2008 11:43PM
This looks strangely familiar...almost like...an Eee knockoff? Wouldn't you say, Engadget?
Ruben @ Apr 23rd 2008 11:49PM
It looks like a laptop knockoff to me.
Juaquin @ Apr 24th 2008 2:28AM
The joke was that Engadget has been calling all small laptops Eee knockoffs. Glad to see that went straight over everyone.
nDee @ Apr 24th 2008 5:17AM
when they have macbook nano, people would consider eeepc as a copy of mbn......................
CUBSWILLWIN @ Apr 24th 2008 7:42AM
I srsly want my 3 minutes back...
:P
Mike @ Apr 24th 2008 3:22PM
I can't help but chuckle when I see someone assume that every last person on Engadget is too dense to get a joke instead of thinking that maybe it was just their joke that wasn't delivered properly.
mobalis @ Apr 23rd 2008 11:44PM
Why are all these things WHITE? Yuk
Michael LaFramboise @ Apr 24th 2008 1:18AM
Why not? as surprising as it may be to you, not everyone shares your tastes and color preferences - some people actually like their gadgets in white instead of black...
matthew @ Apr 24th 2008 6:10AM
yes.. i love when they turn a dirty grey/brown color after a few weeks.
Mavromatis @ Apr 25th 2008 3:20AM
The regional manager of MSI says, in video, that they won't be selling white versions of it, only pink and black.
nintendodude @ Apr 23rd 2008 11:45PM
that girl is cute!
I like my Mini Note better, looks nicer
helloUser @ Apr 24th 2008 12:18AM
you need a female companion.
nintendodude @ Apr 23rd 2008 11:45PM
anyone else like the HP better...? I doe!
Nate @ Apr 23rd 2008 11:58PM
The Mini-Note looks nice, but has a couple of fatal flaws.
Three pounds is a bit hefty for a machine that small, and the processor can only be described as a dog.
I could live with the weight. I can't live with that chip.
darkstar @ Apr 23rd 2008 11:46PM
what are they saying??
how much does this thing weights???
darkstar @ Apr 23rd 2008 11:47PM
oh nevermind, i found out it weights 2lbs. not bad. i was hoping something lighter...
BradVT @ Apr 23rd 2008 11:48PM
Is it just me or does it look like it has rudders underneath the back part of it? I know the back feet are large to facilitate ventilation and make it more ergonomic to type on, but it kinda ruins the form factor for me. I guess i could get a file and shave them off.
Nate @ Apr 23rd 2008 11:59PM
To me, it looks like it's actually resting on the battery.
BradVT @ Apr 24th 2008 12:06AM
Yeah, I thought it might be that too.
qld @ Apr 23rd 2008 11:53PM
What a terrible hands-on, they don't even power it on... why? because it's a prototype unit that doesn't even work yet. Idiots. Thanks for the useless review.
BTW the HP Mini does look a lot better, aesthetically speaking. But the MSI is certainly slated to be better spec-ed and have a nice competitive price to boot... I dunno, if VIA ever gets around to releasing Isaiah and if HP throws Isaiah (a far superior chip to the sh*t that is known as c7-m) into the HP mini then I might pick one up. Otherwise, let's see what Dell has to offer (please, for God's sake, give it a good screen and a good battery), or I might just fall on my back-up plan = EEE 900.
Nate @ Apr 23rd 2008 11:56PM
Ugh. The SD card doesn't flush-mount. Why is Asus the only company that understands the importance of this?
kavendano14 @ Apr 23rd 2008 11:58PM
Ugh, what's this? I want three and a half minutes of my life back
andres @ Apr 24th 2008 12:08AM
well, you need a life in the first place
Aguiluz @ Apr 23rd 2008 11:59PM

I'm waiting for the ECS one. That one was hot.
comcast @ Apr 24th 2008 12:27AM
Anyone know why it says Comcast on the front page?
BigTeebo @ Apr 24th 2008 12:31AM
Another day, another EEE competitor enters the ring. What next, a Tandy offering?
Umut @ Apr 24th 2008 12:39AM
The note under the video link roughly translates like this: "Due to some restrictions we could not turn on this product. However, we will soon have the opportunity to test a working version as well"...
I thought that was funny. What kinda restrictions they were talking about. :))
MeatyPi @ Apr 24th 2008 12:50AM
they unfortunately searched for 4 hours, but had no luck in figuring out how to turn it on.
Ozgur Cetin @ Apr 24th 2008 1:02AM
Hello,
I was do the test. This is not a working copy. Because there is some limitation for Intel NDA. I will test working version later 3-4 weeks.

So you say that this is just a replica?
You've been testing a replica for all those minutes.
now it is fun
hahahahahhahahahahahhahahahhahahahahhaha! TESTING A REPLICA!
Daniel @ Apr 24th 2008 1:15AM
@Zach - Lighten up a bit, who cares if he writes first.
LarryLarryLarry @ Apr 24th 2008 1:16AM
The echoing voices, the single camera, the totally bare walls, the thumping techno background. This is the most boring porn I've ever watched.
Ozgur Cetin @ Apr 24th 2008 1:32AM
Sorry my previous post. I can not sleep 29 hours. Theres is some gramer problem.
Hello,
I am the editor who conducted the hands-on. First of all, this was not a working product since there are some limitations for Intel NDA. I will test the actual product in 3-4 weeks.
There are also some pictures:

ryback @ Apr 24th 2008 8:33AM
You shouldn't feel bad about your lacking ability to sleep for 29 hours. The longest I ever slept is 16 hours, and I am one lazy sob.
digitallysick @ Apr 24th 2008 1:33AM
no video of it actually on and running? ahh well, i do really like it though, looks lit has several usb ports on the left side? i really want this *waits*
Schfelzerberg @ Apr 24th 2008 1:46AM
Should have known MSI would release it elsewhere first other than the US of A. But I didn't expect it to be Turkey. I was thinking South East Asia first as they usually do.
catacuta @ Apr 24th 2008 2:07AM
The girl here is the general manager of MSI Turkey. While the review was lousy with more talk and less showing the actual product, I think it was in the same league with Mr. BlurryCam's reviews.
And Ozgur Cetin, your grammar is even worse in your second post. (hey I'm turkish too.)
Ozgur Cetin @ Apr 24th 2008 2:33AM
Sorry sorry sorry. I have to sleep :)...

MSI takes Turkish market quite seriously. They have many laptops and other products. I'm not really suprised when I see MSI's laptop reviewed first in Turkey when US is filled with Asus EEE but Turkey is kind of virgin of cheap ultramobiles.
mugoy @ Apr 24th 2008 4:51AM
I guess you couldnt get the main idea.

Gosh, these companies just keep cranking out cheap sub-notebooks :) Problem i see is that they are all practically the same, apart from the HP that looks nice!
MSI Wind... Macbook Air? I know they are nothing to do with each other before you go flaming me :D
