Fujitsu lets loose U810, T2010 tablet PCs
Fujitsu wasn't all that specific about pricing or release details when it announced its new U810 and T2010 tablet PCs earlier this year, but it looks like both have now finally made their way out the door. In case you missed it, the big addition this time around is the inclusion of a built-in HSPA modem (and rather obvious antenna), which will run you an extra $200 on top of the $999 and $1,499 base prices for the U810 and T2010, respectively. Otherwise, you can expect the same 5.6-inch and 12.1-inch displays as before, along with the usual 800MHz Intel A110 processor on the U810 and a decidedly speedier Core 2 Duo 7600 processor on the T2010, among other specs not too different from the previous models.

i have never really used a tablet pc... kinda dont have use for them.... i guess it would be ok for some office stuff, but the only people i see using them are the drug reps at my work!

Tablet PCs are great for the students who need to take notes on powerpoints...

i find that just going to class with the printed slides (if even) with some pen and paper is more than enough to get a good grade in the course. i've tried the laptop thing in class, but i'm just too compelled to fire up winterbells or some other monstrous distraction

Tablet PCs shine for meetings. The perception is you are taking notes. The reality is that you are keeping things afloat. It's just not socially acceptable to open up a laptop and start banging out emails. Even typing on a blackberry/phone gets a hairy eyeball from an executive where a Tablet PC usually won't.

I would love to have a tablet PC, but the Fujitsu is going to be way over price for the specification that they offer.
Once again it comes with Vista, which is really bad for such a small system that needs to run fast on the go.

I got a T2010 a couple of months ago. After being driven away from the Dell Tablet. It's my 4th TabletPC and my 18th Laptop. The best thing is the LED backlit screen, it blows away any TabletPC screen period. It actually has better color than my Dell 17" UWXGA with Trulife. Only gripe is no locking latch and no touchpad.
