If you haven't faced MacBook Air overheating issues, you're
clearly in the minority, and regular ol' MacBook users have been faced with plenty burnination of their own. While there are
plenty of laptop coolers out there, none have been so specifically designed to address these two perennial overheaters as Moshi's Zefyr. The aluminum heatsink setup has an "ultra-silent" USB-powered fan and is quite minimal, just concentrating on the MacBooks' problem spots up top. MacBooks don't really get that hot. We should be looking at MacBook Pros. Mine has fried an egg and then some.

i have a macbook and i also had to instal smcFanControl and keep the fan running at 5000rpm just so the CPU stays below 65°C, this is probably the best thing i have seen for the macbook, i need to get one so that my CPU and legs last a little longer without combusting...

I've never experienced a MacBook Pro overheating. It actually runs cooler than my PC notebook that idles around 70 degrees C.

I think it depends on the CPU in there. The Penryn's don't get that hot.

I've been thinking, what if manufacturers tout a laptops thinness by taking away some parts, but in the end, you must add back all the parts externally to make the laptop run normally.

Actually I think it even cures the MBA's I-need-an-extension-cable-jz-to-connect-a-flash-drive problem... that pass-through port looks to be flush with the heatsink and sticks out from the MBA body... heh

They should have integrated a USB hub at the nearside of the cooler, wouldnt take up any more space, and would give MBA owners at least a couple more USB ports to use!

Hmm... The issue with this is that due to the power used by the fan you'd be limited to low power devices, and only one or 2 at a time.
