WWDC 2008 is Monday at 10:00AM PST / 1:00PM EST, set your alarms
Rumor roll call: 3G iPhone: check. Mid-range Mac desktop: check. Tablet MacBook: check. Tablet iPod touch: check. New MacBook Pros: check. Wait. You do realize that this is WWDC, and Apple usually only announces one, maybe two new pieces of hardware, right? They really just tend to focus on the software being that it's their, um, worldwide developer conference. (iPhone 2.0 firmware: check. OS X 10.6: check. Me.com: check.) Whatever, set your alarm clocks because we'll be there blowing it out live.

I have an inside source who says there will be NO 3G iPhone update. Repeat. NO-3G-IPHONE-UPDATE. They have inside information. This is a trustworthy source. They did say there will be LOTS of SDK information for the current iPhone. This source is to be trusted.
Jakob Henner @ Jun 5th 2008 4:08PM
Juice is tasty. Very tasty, but comon I know AppleJuice won't dissapoint me.
peerless @ Jun 5th 2008 4:32PM
Well for one there is no such thing as a 3G software update, 3G is the radio.
Juice @ Jun 5th 2008 4:33PM
NO UPDATE ON A 3G IPHONE.
James Cameron @ Jun 5th 2008 4:55PM
Don't really give an ass crap. If it's interesting I'll read it if not, I'll just move along.
Brendan Sheehan @ Jun 5th 2008 5:21PM
"Newest updates at the top, please."
I won't be coming to Engadet for updates because of this. Impatient teenagers wanting it right here and now, I'd much, much, much rather scroll down and see it develop as I go. You know, reading as well as looking at the pictures. Yeah, reading the actual words. Imagine that!
Richard Lai @ Jun 5th 2008 6:03PM
@Juice: to be frank, you should go f*ck yourself.
Richard Lai @ Jun 5th 2008 6:07PM
@Juice: also, go read the patent for the new iPhone.
Mobile Phone Diva @ Jun 5th 2008 6:16PM
Juice, there has to be because of all the European carriers picking it up. A non-3G iPhone would get lackluster sales over there, I would think.
PereCadena @ Jun 6th 2008 7:20PM
didn't know Paris and London share the same time zone !!!
maybe it's a plus in Steve Jobs RDF to unify certain time zones...
Phil Perman @ Jun 5th 2008 3:43PM
Little mistake there, 6pm GMT = 7pm London, were on British Summer Time over here at the moment
Phil Perman @ Jun 5th 2008 3:50PM
Whoops, my bad, didn't actually think to check the time calculations. Its actually 7pm London, 6pm GMT
Shan @ Jun 5th 2008 3:54PM
There is no mistake - it's correct. NYC is 5 hours behind GMT and the West coast is 8 hours behind GMT. USA is also on DST.
Shan @ Jun 5th 2008 4:05PM
Gosh Phil, stop giving out the wrong info - twice! Get an iPhone so you have world clocks or install Qlock on your desktop! Ryan please change London back to 6pm which is the CORRECT time.
Sarig @ Jun 5th 2008 4:26PM
7pm for London is correct. But it's 6pm GMT.
Mark @ Jun 5th 2008 4:51PM
ok..
10am Pacific Time is 8 hours behind the UK.
1pm Eastern Time is 5 hours behind the UK.
6pm UK time is what time it is on.
5pm GMT, but i don't think that anyone is actually using GMT right now
7pm Paris, as they are GMT +1 and Daylight Savings.
How hard is it?
Shan @ Jun 5th 2008 5:37PM
@Phil & Sarig
Stop giving out the wrong info. It doesn't matter what summer time, winter time, disco time, party time is. At the end of the day, when it is 10am on the USA west coast on Monday the 9th of June - the time in London and the rest of Great Britain will be 6PM NOT 7PM. Anybody getting on at 7PM In England will have missed 1 hour of the conference. Thank God Mark is awake!
Nobody is using GMT it is DST. So Ryan needs to remove GMT and put London in its place.

Mark @ Jun 5th 2008 6:04PM
ok.. can I urge someone at engadget to copy and paste my little post below.. then the times will be CORRECT...
07:00AM - Hawaii
10:00AM - Pacific
11:00AM - Mountain
12:00PM - Central
01:00PM - Eastern
05:00PM - Reykjavik / GMT
06:00PM - London
07:00PM - Paris
02:00AM - Tokyo (June 10th)
Shan @ Jun 5th 2008 6:09PM
I hear you Mark! With world clocks/time zones being a feature on phones, software and websites, it baffles me how so many people are still reading it all wrong! Here is a fixed time for when the conference opens in San Francisco on Monday. 224 world clocks - so now nobody has any excuses to be late to the party.
Time is fixed on Monday, 9 June 2008, 10:00 San Francisco time

Cheers.

Where is the "I could give a shit less about WWDC" option on the poll? I feel cheated...
Mason Trang @ Jun 5th 2008 3:44PM
do you see that little 'x' button on the top corner of your browser?
yeah, that one. it should work
Jakob Henner @ Jun 5th 2008 3:45PM
You cared enough to click on the title and comment ;)
Please newest updates at top.
7 PM: Copenhagen/Stockholm.
Kaiser-Machead @ Jun 5th 2008 3:52PM
If you could give a shit, then I can assume that you do give a shit.
The correct way to say it is couldn't give a shit.
/gramma nazi.
John @ Jun 5th 2008 4:44PM
Kaiser:
1) Since you're taking the English language so literally, offering fecal matter to anyone is impolite, so it would follow that giving a shit would convey the author's discontent for the subject at hand.
2) "I could care less" and its derivatives have been accepted into the American English vernacular for a while now. It's an idiom, and while one shouldn't write "I could care less" in a formal publication, it's perfectly acceptable to do while, say, commenting on a blog post. The fact that you understood the author's original intent is enough to justify its effectiveness as a statement of dislike.
Jason @ Jun 5th 2008 5:02PM
Werd.
Staying off Engadget all day Monday.
brian @ Jun 5th 2008 5:57PM
@John
what's even funnier about "i could care less" is that people use it to imply they dont care about something, yet literally it means they do care, because they could in fact care less than they do.
Mark Anderson @ Jun 5th 2008 6:01PM
I'm trying hard to care but this news just can't pierce my shield of apathy.
Joel @ Jun 5th 2008 8:50PM
@John
Is it safe for me to assume that you couldn't care less about the degradation of the English language? Personally, It irritates the hell out of me when people misuse our native tongue. Just because a misuse of something is generally accepted, that does not make it right.
Take for instance, racism. At one point in time, it was generally accepted. Did that make it right and "ok"? I know that the two things are entirely different and one is much more excusable than the other, but the principle is the same.
fred @ Jun 5th 2008 3:45PM
"Whatever, set your alarm clocks because we'll be there blowing it out live."
Just don't go overboard with the postings.
The 7-10 for the iPhone SDK was just plain silly. And try to post some other stuff that is going on as well or else all of those people that dont care for this will be in that thread to troll everyone's ears off.
BigTom3007 @ Jun 5th 2008 10:27PM
I think during the Keynote post it newest on top, then at the end of the keynote reorganize it was newest is on bottom.
Ti @ Jun 5th 2008 5:20PM
Please give us the option of newer things at the bottom. I don't want to start reading halfway through the keynote and have everything spoiled. The order is so much a part of the experience. Kinda like opening up the stocking stuffers before moving on to the main course of the Christmas presents!
MadCow234 @ Jun 5th 2008 6:35PM
@Ti
Most people will be at their computer starting when the keynote starts (a lot, including me, will be here earlier). We will be reading from the start and refreshing constantly. The issue here is everytime we refresh, we have to scroll to the bottom of the extremely long post to see if it's been updated yet. If the update is at the top, no scrolling. Just make sure you're on time and you won't start reading in the middle. :)

There!
Patriks7 @ Jun 5th 2008 3:46PM
during the event put newest on top and later make it the normal way?
or is that too much for u guys?
KarlW @ Jun 5th 2008 3:48PM
Why haven't you guys got an AJAX system for liveblogging yet?
cla @ Jun 5th 2008 3:48PM
I'd prefer newest on the top cos that's the way I'm used to since you inform about the newest gadget at the top, too.
waddaya @ Jun 5th 2008 3:57PM
What did you vote for? Wait, I guess you voted for...
I Know I'll get low ranked for posting "I was the first."
waddaya @ Jun 5th 2008 4:01PM
Wrong post. This was directed @ DMG
waddaya @ Jun 5th 2008 3:50PM
Your forgot to add one thing to that check list. Apple logo condoms. looks like the WWDC is going to be an Apple orgy of products.
Kyle @ Jun 5th 2008 4:04PM
I'm sorry but because you posted that I have to photoshop that.
It's far too hilarious to pass up.
DiGiC @ Jun 5th 2008 3:50PM

i was the first to vote for the updates at the top!
Shan @ Jun 5th 2008 4:01PM
so do you want a medal or something?
ryan10ad @ Jun 5th 2008 3:52PM
Ehh Leo and the crew over at Twit / PixelCorps / MacBreak / MacBreak Weekly think is 9AM PST. Has it changed?
Randy @ Jun 5th 2008 3:54PM
After all this time ... haven't you figured out how to post into an RSS feed?
Mark @ Jun 5th 2008 3:56PM
no! it is 6pm London!!!
as PST/EST is on DST, they add an hour on, it is still only an 8 hour time difference!!!
can't you add.. 10am + 8hrs = 6pm
