Evento's BuzzBall: your own personal roller coaster
Those positively fed up with lengthy lines for coasters at amusement parks will likely dig the concept here. Evento's BuzzBall is essentially a personal roller coaster, which reportedly features a "single seat inside a large outer ball that's able to spin and roll independently of the ball itself" alongside a pair of electric motors used to power it. Better still, you don't even need a hill to ride, just a wide open field (or a road, if you're the daredevil type) to frolic in. As it stands, the BuzzBall is simply a prototype waiting to flourish, but it sure looks like this company is serious about selling at least a few to those with enough resources (you know, cash and spare time) to enjoy it.

a big paper bag included?
gad get @ Jun 29th 2008 6:33AM
Nope. You still want it?
Blackstar @ Jun 29th 2008 6:40AM
Um, and what happens when you get to a steep hill? Even if you break or reverse the drive wheels inside... you'll just keep sliding or rolling depending on the surface. That outer covering does not look to have much traction.
Pray you are not near a drop off or cliff. O.o

This better come with some awesome disclaimers.

LondonConsultant @ Jun 29th 2008 7:37AM
The price is irrelevant if Jodie Foster can travel across the universe in one of these.

Please tell me the prototype is in Auckland - if someone will lend me a helmet with a HANS collar then I'd volunteer to test it.

OK assuming this is what I think it is; this is simply a portable version of the gyroscope trainer that NASA use to use.

Did anyone else hit the read link? These guys also sell a bathtub racer and a toilette go-kart. The BuzzBall is quite the deviation from their other crappy gadgets (pun intended).
brandon beebox @ Jun 29th 2008 12:22PM
yes it's cool, but how many miles per gallon does it get
I LOVE THE CAPS LOCK KEY @ Jun 29th 2008 11:20PM
As long as you do not use a truck to tow it to the top of a hill, it gets ∞/MPG.
(∞ is the mathematical symbol for infinity)

Still no comments about gerbils or other critter balls? Not even a Richard Gere reference to be had. I'm disappointed.
Jenny @ Jun 30th 2008 12:36AM
The blow-up human hamster balls for water seem to have run everyone dry, and they look safer. This has more potential for epic fail and emergency room visits.
Kris @ Jun 30th 2008 5:21AM
It reminds me of one of those things that gerbals (or other critter's) use. Or perhaps Richard Gere (That's just a reference though)
Yuri @ Jun 30th 2008 12:27AM
Has anyone else messed with those roller coaster simulators found in a few arcades?
They have one in a mall about 1 1/2 hours away, and for $2 a ride, you can get a somewhat decent thrill, though you can tell you're not quite in a coaster yet.
They have it in Disney World too. Good times =P
But I'd love to ride in one of these.
Xanatos451 @ Jun 30th 2008 11:09AM
Yeah, but will it take me back 7 days in time?
Tracy in Cary @ Jun 30th 2008 12:06PM
No. You have to paint it blue first.
Bobasaurus @ Jun 30th 2008 11:44AM
At least if I lose something, it won't decapitate me.
Too soon?

I can't wait for the coroner reports: impalement, immolation, blunt-force trauma, drowning...
Oh, I hope they take pictures!!
